Graphic Arts for SAP is based upon JDF. The Job Definition Format is defined as being the language of data of transmission based upon XML that enables information related with graphic activity to be shared and with all parties using the same criteria.

JDF is, thus, the global future communication standard developed for Graphic Arts. In its development, a consortium of companies have participated, among them the leading software and machinery manufacturers such as Adobe, HP and Xerox. Its implementation will be fully operational and become the worldwide standard within the next 5 years.

Graphic Arts for SAP, through its Series Modular 3, provides a Direct to the Press JDF Connection Module. A JDF/JMF should also be acquired to link each press that is JDF compatible as described below in the following drawing:

Graphic Arts for SAP is once again the first ERP worldwide that connects, in series, via JDF with printing presses and workflows without any need for personalizations.
